433rd Civil Engineer Squadron welcomes new commander

Brig. Gen. George Appenzeller, BAMC commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Brown present Shirley Adcock with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award May 30 for her more than 12,000 service hours at Brooke Army Medical Center. Adcock has volunteered as a tour guide, a ward listener and, currently, as a greeter for the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center intensive care unit.

National Guard 'ready' as 2019 hurricane season kicks off

A South Carolina National Guard Soldier with Task Force Palmetto, helps clear a road in the vicinity of Cayey, Puerto Rico. The Soldiers are working in conjunction with the 190th Engineer Battalion of the Puerto Rico National Guard to clear mud and debris from the roads in the wake of Hurricane Maria and subsequent rain storms.

JBSA-Fort Sam Houston's North New Braunfels Gate closed June 6-9

The North New Braunfels Avenue Entry Control Point at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston will be closed, depending on weather, for approximately three days from Thursday, June 6, to Sunday, June 9, for ballistic gate installation. During these temporary closures, the Wilson Gate will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Technology, AFWERX, helping SF Academy graduates become more lethal, ready

The MILO system puts student in various interactive use of force training scenarios, including the potential application of deadly force, through the use of enhanced video screens.

Air Force medic trainee saves choking toddler

DeGoes, 59th MDW commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Chuck Frizzell, 59th MDW command chief, after performed lifesaving intervention on a choking toddler at a local restaurant March 30.
