Open to all qualified individuals associated with Joint Base San Antonio, the San Antonio Military Medical Health System offers a wide range of mental and behavioral health services through the Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. Walk-in Appointments (seen in order of clinical priority)

Walk-in Appointments/Triage 0730-1630 Monday-Friday

- Fill out short assessment form; briefly meet with technician, and then the triage provider. This service is to address immediate safety concerns and is short. You will then be given an appointment specific to your mental health needs.

- Mental health emergencies that CANNOT WAIT: Report to SAMMC or closest ER or call 911

New Patient Evaluations

- Due to high volume of patients, to prevent wait times up to 3 - 4 hoursit is recommended you download new patient forms and bring completed forms to your appointment.

Deployment, PCS, security & job-related clearances

- Please contact clinic to order outpatient record which is needed for clearances. (Records can take up to 5 duty days to receive. Please give us as much notice as possible.)

- Please bring all documentation pertaining to clearance to the clinic for review prior to your appointment.

- PCS- Security- Deployment- Re-training- cross training

- Please call 210-292-7361 to schedule your one time Spec appointment with a provider for your clearance. 

Walk-in Appointments/Triage

- All below services are rendered to established patients. To initiate care in the Mental Health Clinic, you must walk-in from 730-1630, Monday-Friday.


- All groups require a referral from a mental health provider (excludes PTSD ed. Group)

- Emotions Management Group, 3 sessions Monday 1300-1430

- Emotions Management Process Group Tuesday 1200-1330

- Disordered eating Group, 4 sessions Monday 1300-1400

- PTSD Education Group (open to all Tricare beneficiaries) 1st and 2nd Wednesday 1500-1630

- ADHD Group 1st and 3rd Tuesdays 0900-1000


- Fit for duty- Consult put in by PCM, 433rd staff, or coast guard staff. Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) books next available appointment trough case manager.

- MEB- Patient contacted by PEBLO after consult received and booked for next available one-time appointment through case manager.

- TDRL- Patient contacted by PEBLO after consult received and booked for next available one-time appointment through case manager 30 days out due to members being out of state.

- Security Clearances/PCS/Deployment Clearances/ Job related clearances as above.


- Post Deployment/Readjustment Counseling

- Individual Therapy

- Medication Management

- Through referral from either PCM or mental health
