Col Richard L. Lowe, assigned to the 39th Flying Training Squadron at a ceremony  held at Randolph AFB theater on December 10, 2010.  Lt. Col Lowe distinguished himself by heroism involving voluntary risk of life following the crash of Flight 1404 at Denver International Airport on 20 December 2008.

Sergeant Lilley Honored

Lt. Gen. Thomas Owen, Aeronautical Systems Center commander, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and Staff Sgt. Scott Lilley, a security forces specialist with the 343rd Training Squadron, display his retirement certificate. General Owen officiated over Sergeant Lilley's retirement ceremony Dec. 2 at the Gateway Club. Sergeant Lilley, who medically retired after 11 years of active duty service, was seriously wounded in April 2007, while assigned to train local police forces in Iraq. Despite severe head wounds and bleeding, he continued to man his post while under attack. He was awarded the purple heart for his actions. Sergeant Lilley officially retires Dec. 23.
