The staff at Joint Base San Antonio is available and ready to provide assistance with housing options and local resources to support the transition to your new home and community. As we continue to develop processes to accommodate Service Members' housing needs, we will update this website to provide you with additional information.

The Air Force is the lead service for most of your housing needs and provides support for all Service Members at the following installations:

- Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston (JBSA-FSH)

- Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland (JBSA-LAK)

- Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph (JBSA-RND)

All Service Members should report to the housing office at your assigned installation upon arrival. This visit is necessary to receive counseling and guidance before entering into any written lease or rental/sales contract for housing.

Welcome to Joint Base San Antonio and all the area has to offer. The spirit of Texas is captured in San Antonio by blending the sounds and flavors from Old Mexico and the Deep South while retaining its sense of history and tradition. The city features The Alamo, located in downtown San Antonio and the River Walk that offers sidewalk cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and hotels. Children can enjoy San Antonio's Children's Museum, Magik Theater and Brackenridge Park. San Antonio also offers two major theme parks, Sea World of Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, as well as a plethora of other entertainment options. San Antonio residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of local treasures and find more information about city services and recreation activities on the City of San Antonio's official website.

The community is made up of many active-duty and retired military families. With 105 sunny days a year, San Antonio is blessed with the natural beauty of the desert to the Southwest, rolling Hill Country to the North and coast line to the South. Residents enjoy a high quality of life in a friendly, caring atmosphere of a small town.

There are several duty locations at Joint Base San Antonio and each assignment has different housing options available both on and off base. Select the link above to view the housing options at your new duty location.

In some cases, where you live and work at Joint Base San Antonio may not be at the same installation. For example, if an unaccompanied Service Member is assigned to live at JBSA-Lackland, but works at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, he/she may voluntarily choose to live at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston if there is space available. If this applies to you, contact your unit commander or the appropriate housing office for more information. More information about living in Texas is available under the resources section of this page to help with the transition to your new home.

Housing Call Center

We are happy to report that the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s commitment to stand up a call center is up and running.  This call center is not a substitute for the installation level processes for initiating maintenance calls and resolving disputes through the chain of command, but provides another avenue for residents to voice their concerns when they feel the current housing process is non-responsive or if residents are uncomfortable with approaching others at the installation with their concern.

As we continue to be responsive to the needs of the community, this toll free number is available to communicate any housing concerns.  Our goal is to ensure adequate and safe housing for you and your families. We stand ready to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

The toll free number is 1-800-482-6431
