The “casualties,” which are life-like manikins called human patient simulators, appear to have received several traumatic injuries including amputations and gunshot wounds. The combat medic trainees assess the injuries and take actions to treat them while sirens blare, the room fills with smoke, and the lights are dimmed.

Starting this June, the Army implemented a formal process to capture and evaluate grassroots, personal readiness and resilience initiatives, before considering the idea for potential Army-wide use. The new process, outlined in the just released Initiative Evaluation Process technical guide, is designed to ensure ideas can demonstrate results, have applicability Army-wide and avoid duplication or unintended consequences.

Army releases housing survey results
July 29, 2019
At Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, 308 of the 871 distributed surveys were received, a 35.4 percent response rate across eight neighborhoods. 
JBSA-Fort Sam Houston’s residents’ overall satisfaction rate was 76.3 percent for 2019, just above the Army average of 74.6 percent. However, that reflects a decline in satisfaction from 2018 when JBSA-Fort Sam Houston scored 78.6 percent.
