Randolph celebrates 50th Anniversary of T-38 landing

David Jenkins from the 12th Flying Training Wing Maintenance Directorate marshals in the anniversary edition of the T-38 during a ceremony at Randolph March 17.  The ceremony commemorated  the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the T-38 at Randolph. Originally nicknamed the white rocket, the T-38 became the Air Force’s first supersonic jet trainer. The aircraft is used to prepare Air Force pilots for front-line fighter and bomber aircraft such as the F-15E Strike Eagle, B-1B Lancer and F-22 Raptor. The Talon has flown more than 13 million hours and has seen more than 70,000 U.S. Airmen trained.(U.S. Air Force photo/Rich McFadden)
