FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV presents a Lifetime Achievement Award to Darrell G. Harris on behalf of the 82nd Airborne Division Association for his actions and service during WWII July 13 at the U.S. Army North Headquarters in the Quadrangle here. Harris is a veteran paratrooper of 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, from World War II. Army North celebrates historic battalion change of command

FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV passes the battalion colors to Lt. Col. Zoltan Krompecher as the Soldiers and civilians of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army North, witnessed the battalion’s inaugural change of command and change of responsibility ceremony at Fort Sam Houston’s Rehearsal of Concept Drill Facility July 12. Caldwell, the commanding general of U.S. Army North and senior commander of Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony. Krompecher assumed command from Lt. (May 30, 2012) Instructors and staff of the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) were given the opportunity of a lifetime when Lt. Gen. Charles Green, surgeon general of the Air Force; Vice Adm. Matthew Nathan, surgeon general of the Navy and chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery; and Lt. Gen. Patricia Horoho, surgeon general and commanding general, U.S. Army Medical Command and their senior enlisted leaders conducted All Hands calls during a visit to METC on May 30.
