New Air Force 'Better Foods. Better Bodies.' healthy-eating campaign pilots at three bases

The Office of the Air Force Surgeon General and Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA) Health Promotion office launched a pilot campaign recently focused on motivating Airmen and their families to eat healthier. The campaign – which adopted the tagline “Better Foods. Better Bodies.” – aims to raise awareness of healthy food options, increase knowledge of good nutritional choices and motivate Airmen and their families to eat better, both on and off base. JBSA commemorates Foulois' first military flight at Fort Sam Houston

Lt. Gen. Douglas H. Owens (center), Air Education and Training command vice commander, retired Col. Dan Meyers (right), Order of Daedalians, Stinsons Flight captain, and retired Lt. Col. Dan Clark, Jack Dibrell Alamo Chapter; place the wreath during a ceremony commemorating the first military flight.  The ceremony was held at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston parade grounds March 1.  Flown by Lt. Benjamin Foulois March 2, 1910, the flight took place over the parade grounds at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston. Lieutenant Foulois' orders were to "teach himself to fly" in the only military aeroplane in existence at that time. Crewmembers prepare to fight a simulated fire onboard the LCU 2001”Runnymede.” If a fire were to break out, half of the fire team would immediately start spraying down the area of fire while the other half dons fireproof suits. On  half the team is dressed, they switch off positions so they can get dressed while still maintaining constant control of the fire. The crew is expected to take no more than two minutes to be fully dressed in fire protection gear.

ECMO medical team achieves cutting-edge patient transfer
