Medical Education Training Campus Combat Medic Training goes virtual

AMEDD Museum exhibit explores role of Army medical personnel during World War I

Christopher Goodrow, U.S. Army Medical Department Museum, AMEDD Center of History and Heritage museum specialist, tends to a World War I uniform worn by Capt. Douglas Venable, who served in the war. The uniform is one of 55 artifacts that will be included in a temporary exhibit opening April 28 at the AMEDD Museum at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, marking the 100th anniversary of the U.S. entry into World War I and the role of the U.S. Army Medical Department in the war.

JBSA comes together for second annual Aerobathon

Joint Base San Antonio will have a chance to enjoy free workout sessions, learn tips on how to stay healthy and have a chance to win prizes on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at JBSA-Randolph’s Rambler Fitness Center. This year’s Aerobathon, which is open to all active duty service members, dependents, retirees and Department of Defense cardholders age 16 and older, will feature special guest Ally Davidson, co-founder and co-CEO of Camp Gladiator.

Brooke Army Medical Center receives high marks for surgical care

Brooke Army Medical Center has received highest marks for surgery and post-surgical care, according to a recent report from the American College of Surgeons. BAMC achieved an exemplary rating in 12 surgical areas and the best possible rating for mortality after surgery.

2017 Spring Bike Rodeo highlights bicycle safety

Children ages 8-13 years old line up to put their bicycle riding skills to a test against one another April 8. The Bicycle Rodeo program targets elementary and middle school students to provide bicycle safety information and guidance. Bike rodeo is an opportunity for kids and adults to increase their riding skills by negotiating several obstacles and/or tracks, testing their riding abilities. Individuals also got the opportunity to get their bike inspected, tuned up and bike registered.

Sexual assault survivor shares her story; inspires others

Korra survived a sexual assault while in college and shares her story and recovery in hopes of inspiring others to do the same.
