Air Force MTI named Military Times’ Airman of the Year

188th Medical Battalion changes leadership

Lt. Col. James L. Pulliam assumed command of the 188th Medical Battalion at a ceremony held at the AMEDD Museum. LTC Pulliam is only the second commander of the 188th MED BN, formally the Academy Battalion Provisional, which was renamed on June 1, 2017. Former commander LTC Amy L. Jackson took command two years ago when the battalion first was stood up as part of an AMEDDC&S reorganization.

AF rolls out phased retirement program for eligible civilians

The 502d Civil Engineering Squadron conducted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a 144 person dormitory at JBSA Lackland AFB on February 21, 2017. The $18 million dollar facility opened after a 30 month construction in September 2016 when active duty airman of the 24th AF, 25th AF, and the 502 Air Base Wing began moving in.

Dr. Bertram Jon Klauenberg, a senior research physiologist with the 711th Human Performance Wing’s Radio Frequency Bioeffects Branch at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston recently won the prestigious Defense Standardization Program Achievement Award for 2016, one of only a handful of recipients throughout the Department of Defense.
