Vogel Resiliency Center slated for January 2018 opening

The renovation of building 367 is on schedule for a January 2018 grand opening of the Vogel Resiliency Center, in conjunction with San Antonio's tricentennial celebration of the Alamo City's 300th birthday. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, U.S. Army North commanding general at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, spoke to high school musicians selected to play as part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Marching Band about leadership and selfless service during the band welcome dinner Jan. 2, which celebrated and recognized them for their dedication and leadership to their schools and communities. The musicians are spending the week rehearsing for the Jan. 7 game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, receiving instruction from college and high school band directors, as well as learning from Soldiers in the U.S. Army Field Band.

Brandon Hood (right) from the Fort Sam Houston Honors Platoon Oct. 18 on how to properly fold the U.S. flag, as well as how to render proper honors when raising and lowering the flag. The students are volunteers with the task of putting up the flag in the mornings and taking it down at the end of each school day.
