An obstacle course and a cooking demonstration will again highlight activities as the 59th Medical Wing hosts the second annual Kids in Motion event Aug. 26 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph’s Heritage Park. The free event, which attracted more than 250 people last year, emphasizes the importance of physical activity and diet in combating childhood obesity, said Aracelis Gonzalez-Anderson, 359th Aerospace Medicine Squadron health promotions coordinator. September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month.

502nd Force Support Squadron captures Air Force-best trifecta

Winning an Air Force-level award is a high achievement for any individual or unit, but for an organization to attain three such honors in the same year is an extra special feat.
The 502nd Force Support Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio achieved that trifecta when its bowling, community center and information, tickets and travel programs were selected as “Best in the Air Force” for fiscal year 2016.

The 502d Civil Engineering Squadron conducted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a 144 person dormitory at JBSA Lackland AFB on February 21, 2017. The $18 million dollar facility opened after a 30 month construction in September 2016 when active duty airman of the 24th AF, 25th AF, and the 502 Air Base Wing began moving in.
