JBSA-Randolph mentors lend guiding hand to at-risk students

A mentoring program at four school districts across two San Antonio area counties is giving members of the Joint Base San Antonio community an opportunity to serve as wingmen to at-risk students. The program is offered through Communities in Schools of South Central Texas, which is part of a national network established in New York City more than 40 years ago to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and succeed in life.

Squadron revitalization leads to EPME changes

The reenlistment and extension ineligibility requirement will be removed from the enlisted professional military education program effective March 15, 2017 according to Air Force officials. The policy adjustment places authority and responsibility for reenlistments back at the squadron level and provides flexibility for commanders to retain high-performing experienced Airmen who meet the Air Force’s mission needs, in line with revitalizing Air Force squadrons. In August 2016, Air Mobility Command began a pilot program to charge Military Transportation
Authorization to Individual Government Travel Charge Card accounts.  The program was a success and will be immediately implemented Air Force-wide. If individual GTCCs do not have enough credit to cover anticipated travel expenses and the tariff charge, members must contact unit agency program coordinators and complete a GTCC credit limit increase form.
