Senior Airman Michael Malarsie received the Bronze Star with Valor from Maj. Gen. Byron Hepburn, 59th Medical Wing commander, March 30 at the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. While deployed as a Tactical Air Control Party member in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Malarsie’s actions saved the lives of others when his patrol came under fire.
