The historic 155-foot elevated storage tank stood as a landmark on Security Hill since 1951 before being razed to create 22 parking spaces. The Lackland Lady Warhawks went to League City and won the South Texas State Softball tournament. As a result of the tournament win, the team receives an automatic birth to the Battle of the Rings tournament in Mansfield. The Lady Warhawks is the first military team to earn the number-one ranking in the D/E division.
