Outstanding program manager represents AETC

Air Force civilian Alan Becker; Planning, Programs, Bases and Units program manager in Air Education and Training Command, interviews in the AETC public affairs office, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Jan. 17. Becker was the 2019 AETC winner of the Air Force Association Outstanding Civilian Program Manager of the Year award.

Registration opens for 3rd annual I-WEPTAC

Capt. Alex Pagano, a career broadening officer at Hill Air Force Base and mission area working group chair for the 2019 I-WEPTAC, begins working his topic at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Jan. 23. This year's topics include Command and Control of the Installation as a Weapons System; Leveraging Technology and Innovation for the Installation We Need; Integration of Training & Technology Across Multi-Domain Operations; and Logistics Under Attack. I-WEPTAC focuses on agile combat support core functions and addresses current and future challenges in the I&MS mission sets. The outputs will be actionable recommendations that ensure we continue to deliver agile I&MS capabilities in support of national defense and major command operational plans.

JBSA-Lackland hosts annual Snow Fest celebration

Joint Base San Antonio Community Programs hosted the annual Snow Fest celebration at the JBSA-Lackland Amphitheater on Jan. 25, 2019. Hundreds of military members and their families enjoyed giant snow slides, a snow play area, interactive activities, music and all kinds of food vendors.

1st Lt. Sharon Lane, a U.S. Army nurse, was killed by enemy fire while trying to protect patients at the 312th Evacuation Hospital in Chu Lai, South Vietnam in June 1969. She was the only U.S. military nurse killed by enemy fire during the Vietnam War.
