Navy Recruiting District San Antonio brings cheer to special child

Cmdr. Nicholas Gamiz, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio commanding officer, conducts a mock swear-in of Isaac Juarez during a visit by NRD SA Sailors at Isaac’s New Braunfels home Oct. 28. U.S. Army proposes innovative solution for historic housing

The Department of the Army recently notified the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) of the Army's intent to request a "Program Comment for Army Inter-War Era Historic Housing (1919-1940)" in order to efficiently rehabilitate historic homes while preserving their historical integrity.

2019 TRICARE Open Season, Federal Benefits Open Season starts next month

TRICARE Open Season applies to anyone enrolled in or eligible for a TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select health plan. Federal Benefits Open Season is for enrollment in a Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program dental and vision plan. Both the TRICARE and FEDVIP open seasons will run from Nov. 11 to Dec. 9. The enrollment choices that you make during this period will take effect on Jan. 1, 2020.

Pilot Training Next, NASA launch collaborative research agreement

JBSA-Fort Sam Houston researchers author paper on military dental emergencies

(From left) Dr. John Simecek, Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio director of craniofacial health and restorative medicine; Dr. Sylvain Cardin, Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio chief science director; and Col. Tim Mitchener, U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research public health dentist and oral maxillofacial injury epidemiologist, collaborated on a six-page research paper published in the July/August issue of Military Medicine. Their research paper reviewed and analyzed data from 30 previous studies, both published and unpublished, covering reported dental emergencies and oral- and cranio-maxillofacial injuries of U.S. military personnel serving in combat environments, who were deployed, serving in stabilization operations and training exercises and those in garrison.
