SAN ANTONIO - (April 26, 2024) – Cmdr. Stacey O’Neal, commanding officer, Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio participated in the Battle of Flowers Parade held during Fiesta San Antonio. The Battle of Flowers Parade is the oldest event and largest parade of Fiesta San Antonio attracting crowds of more than 350,000. Leading more than 100 Sailors in the parade was Rear Adm. Walter Brafford, commander, Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC). Joint Base San Antonio is proud to be part of the diverse and vibrant community of San Antonio also known as Military City USA. In efforts to promote sexual assault awareness and prevention: speak out if witnessing harassment, utilize the various counseling options available to survivors, and be informed of the two available – Unrestricted and Restricted – reporting options. Unrestricted Reports enable adult victims of sexual assault to report crimes without requesting confidentiality for their allegations, while Restricted Reports allow adult victims of sexual assault to confidentially report the crime to specified individuals without initiating an investigation. BEAUFORT SEA, Arctic Circle – (March 21, 2024) – Left to right:  Marcus Caldera, Justin Bequette, Andres Martinez Murillo, and Dr. William D’Angelo assigned to Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio’s Biomedical Systems Engineering and Evaluation Department, participated in Operation Ice Camp (ICE CAMP) 2024. ICE CAMP is a three-week operation that allows the Navy to assess its operational readiness in the Arctic, increase experience in the region, advance understanding of the Arctic environment, and continue to develop relationships with other services, allies, and partner organizations. NAMRU San Antonio’s mission is to conduct gap driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research to improve survival, operational readiness, and safety of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel engaged in routine and expeditionary operations. It is one of the leading research and development laboratories for the U.S. Navy under the DoD and is one of eight subordinate research commands in the global network of laboratories operating under the Naval Medical Research Command in Silver Spring, Md.
