Military leaders from throughout Joint Base San Antonio joined together at Evans Theater Friday to sign a proclamation declaring April 2014 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Taking part in the signing were (from left) Army Lt. Gen. Perry Wiggins, commanding general, U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and senior Army commander for JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Camp Bullis; Air Force Brig. Gen. Bob LaBrutta, commander, 502nd Air Base Wing and JBSA; Navy Capt. Gail Hathaway, commander, Navy Medicine Education and Training Command; and Marine Maj. Martin Gale, executive officer for the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion.

IMCOM CHANGE OF COMMAND

AFPC has expanded voluntary FM program waiver authority

The Air Force Personnel Center has been granted expanded waiver authority to waive some active duty service commitments for Airmen interested in voluntary separation under the fiscal year 2014 force management program. The expanded waiver authority also allows AFPC to waive up to 36 months of Advanced Flying Training (to include Pilot or Flying Instructor Training and Qualification) ADSC, up to 36 months of Air Force Institute of Technology ADSC, up to 24 months of medical residency training ADSC, and up to 48 months with recoupment of medical special pays and bonuses. AF updates officer, enlisted voluntary force management eligibility lists

Officers from 33 Air Force specialty codes by year group and enlisted Airmen from seven AFSCs by grade are now eligible to apply for voluntary force management programs. In addition, officers in 70 AFSCs by year group and enlisted members in 178 AFSCs by grade are no longer eligible to apply for voluntary programs, and they will not meet an involuntary board in FY14. Army South Soldiers take part in 25th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March

Three members of U.S. Army South’s 1st Battlefield Coordination Detachment lead the pack as they march along the highway during the 25th Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M. March 23. More than 25 Army South Soldiers participated in the Bataan MDM. Open To military and civilian teams and individuals in either heavy or light divisions, the Bataan Memorial Death March honors a special group of World War II heroes who were captured by Japanese forces and marched for days in the scorching heat through the Philippine jungles in 1942. Thirteen World War II Bataan veterans were in attendance to watch the march.
