Army North celebrates historic battalion change of command

FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Lt. Gen. William Caldwell IV passes the battalion colors to Lt. Col. Zoltan Krompecher as the Soldiers and civilians of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army North, witnessed the battalion’s inaugural change of command and change of responsibility ceremony at Fort Sam Houston’s Rehearsal of Concept Drill Facility July 12. Caldwell, the commanding general of U.S. Army North and senior commander of Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis, served as the reviewing officer for the ceremony. Krompecher assumed command from Lt. Col. Shannon Miller, and Command Sgt. Maj. Alvin Chaplin Sr. assumed responsibility for the battalion from Command Sgt. Maj. Eddie Fields III. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. AMEDD Museum breaks ground

Military Surgeons General visit the Medical Education and Training Campus

(May 30, 2012) Instructors and staff of the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) were given the opportunity of a lifetime when Lt. Gen. Charles Green, surgeon general of the Air Force; Vice Adm. Matthew Nathan, surgeon general of the Navy and chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery; and Lt. Gen. Patricia Horoho, surgeon general and commanding general, U.S. Army Medical Command and their senior enlisted leaders conducted All Hands calls during a visit to METC on May 30.

The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center unveiled its Fuel Efficient Ground Vehicle Demonstrator Alpha to employees at the Pentagon July 12, 2011. TARDEC serves as the lead program agency on the Office of the Secretary of Defense's FED Program to address fuel conservation needs across the military. The Alpha represents the first of two vehicles being developed to compete for a role in the service of the U.S. military.
