Members to access CDCs online in September

Air Education and Training Command Public Affairs

The Airman Advancement Division's online library, e-WAPS Online Reference Library Database, or e-WORLD, will soon have promotion cycle study reference material for 2013 available.

Airmen will be able to access the latest reference material by September. Past career development courses are also available for those still studying for the 2012 promotion cycle.

"For Airmen testing out-of-cycle, having access to past versions of the CDCs ensures they have appropriate study material for the cycle they're competing in," Dwayne Hafer, Air Education and Training Command Airman Advancement Division, said.

The database, which was created in February, is a site where Airmen can download their CDC volumes. So far, more than 110,000 CDC volumes have been downloaded from more than 350 military locations worldwide, including deployed locations.

"We're very excited with the large volume of activity with e-WORLD," Hafer said.

Airmen can access e-WORLD from a military network computer at http://cdc.aetc.af.mil. Once downloaded to their military desktop, Airmen can e-mail the documents or burn them to a CD for use on a personal electronic device. The CDC documents are formatted for use on mobile devices.

Airmen in upgrade training still need to contact their unit training manager to obtain access to their CDCs. E-WORLD is not an alternative to the Air University online library for Airmen in upgrade training, Hafer said.
