Fort Campbell Soldiers deployed at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston for Operation Faithful Patriot

Soldiers assigned to 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, receive briefings while deployed in support of Operation Faithful Patriot at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Nov. 1. As directed by the Department of Defense through Army headquarters, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell are deploying Soldiers, equipment and resources to assist Department of Homeland Security along the southwest border. Military personnel will provide a range of support including planning assistance, engineering support, and logistics and transportation support.

Soaring Valor flight brings World War II veterans, high school students together for New Orleans trip

A World War II veteran holds his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance at the conclusion of a sendoff ceremony at the San Antonio International Airport Oct. 17 which saw 40 WWII veterans take off for a trip to New Orleans to visit the National World War II Museum. The Soaring Valor program, sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation, helped send the veterans and 40 high school Student companions from Dallas, to the museum.

Lincoln Military Housing opens Bark Park for four-legged friends

Protect yourself, guard against mosquitos

Due to the recent heavy rains, the amount of mosquitos has increased at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Camp Bullis. Brooke Army Medical Center Environmental Health Services members are conducting mosquito surveillance and request people don’t tamper with mosquito traps.

JBSA-Fort Sam Houston prepares for Command Cyber Readiness Inspection

Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston will undergo a Command Cyber Readiness Inspection, or CCRI, from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2. An inspection team from the Defense Information Systems Agency, or DISA, will conduct a thorough evaluation of all network systems for the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston area of responsibility.

The Spurs also toured the state-of-the-art CFI rehab facility before the game. The CFI provides rehabilitation for military members who have sustained amputation, burns or functional limb loss.

Hiring Heroes Career Fair offers career and job opportunities for military community

Transitioning servicemembers will find plenty of career and job opportunities and make connections with employers at the Hiring Heroes Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Sam Houston Community Center, 1395 Chaffee Road, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.
