Navy Medicine commands host San Antonio educators for STEM tour

Seaman Emille Sichz and Seaman Apprentice Ciaran Braswell, students in the Surgical Technician program at the Medical Education and Training Campus at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston perform a mock surgery during a tour. The tour provided San Antonio educators and counselors with a general overview of the Navy in an effort to raise awareness of Navy career opportunities through a tour of the medical training campus.

Bill Boruff, who departs for his next assignment at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Officiating the ceremony was Pardew, the commanding general for the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal. The MICC is a subordinate command to ACC.

Darrin Bowser (left), Army South deputy chief of staff for logistics and the U.S. head of delegation for the staff talks, and Chilean army Col. Luis Cortes, the Chilean head of delegation sign an agreed-to-actions agreement between the two armies.

Joint Base San Antonio officials host conference to establish ties with Native American tribes

Army Futures Command study adds sense of touch, motion to medical simulation scenarios

METC physician assistant helps save life of man struck by lightning

A physician assistant from Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston is being lauded for his efforts and quick action in helping to save a life of a man struck by lightning. Capt. Robert Blume, Medical Education and Training Campus Department of Combat Medic Training Officer in charge, Whiskey 2 training team, was on his way home from work on the evening of June 6 when he came upon a chaotic scene in his north San Antonio-area neighborhood.

Volunteers provided 8,000 meals during the event.
