'Taj' goes teal for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

In recognition of April being Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, throughout April the Taj will be bathed in teal lighting. The goal of SAAPM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it. Students learn about human physiology during flight

Staff Sgt. Miriam Hernandez, 359th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Aerospace and Operational Physiology technician, lectures students on the use of their altitude chamber equipment and procedures to ensure their comfort and safety during training April 8, 2015 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. Any students with Air Force specialties including enlisted aircrew, pararescue, remotely piloted aircraft, introduction to fighter fundamentals or pilot instructor training must first learn about human performance in airborne operations at the 359th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Aerospace and Operational Physiology Flight at JBSA-Randolph. A few tools used to train students include a Barany chair to help combat the motion sickness that comes with flying aircraft, an altitude chamber to familiarize students with hypoxia and a flight simulator for night vision goggle training. Renovation project set to transform Rendezvous Dining Facility

June launches the upcoming renovation of the Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Rendezvous Dining Facility. The plans for the renovation will help to create more of a campus-style eating facility, along with new additions such as a pizza and a deli station and will provide more seating for its customers. T-X, future T-38 jet replacement, requirements released

Instructor pilots from Air Education and Training Command use the T-38C to prepare pilots for front-line fighter and bomber aircraft such as the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-15C Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, B-1B Lancer, A-10 Thunderbolt and F-22 Raptor. The new “Two Steps, One Sticker” program began in the state of Texas March 1. Texas drivers no longer receive inspection stickers, and drivers’ registration stickers issued after that date will serve as proof for both inspection and registration. Respect The Red Line:' Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention, Response training released

The Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program recently released the new Air Force requirements for annual SAPR training. The Air Force’s goal for fiscal year 2015 SAPR training is to generate increased peer-to-peer, commander-to-unit, and sexual assault response coordinator-to-military member engagement on the topic of sexual assault prevention throughout the year.

Paul Olmos III, 802nd Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, leads members from the 902nd and 802nd SFS with members of local police departments during a bus assault and hostage rescue exercise Feb. 19, 2015 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Camp Talon. The local agencies involved in the exercise were from the cities of Live, Oak Universal City and Converse and the Judson Independent School District Police Departments. Security Forces and local police departments trained together to prepare for emergencies that require both military and civilian response efforts.
