JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
NOTIFICATION
Throughout Joint Base San Antonio, installation entry control points, otherwise known as the base gates, will undergo multiple construction projects starting January 2019. These necessary construction projects will enhance force protection capability across JBSA, and when complete, will enhance the safety and security of the workforce, family and visitors. This construction will impact mission partners, commercial deliveries and visitors across JBSA.
The 502nd Security Forces Group recommends that organizations stagger reporting times to minimize traffic. For additional information, questions, or concerns, please contact the Anti-Terrorism Program Managers listed below.
JBSA-RANDOLPH CONSTRUCTION
Gate Closure - Lindsey Gate (Main Gate)
Start Date - Jan. 7
Estimated Duration - 70 Days
Below are new gate hours to accommodate the closure:
West Gate: 24/7 (inbound and outbound)
East/South Gate: MON-FRI 6 A.M. - 6 P.M. (closed on holidays)
The Visitor Control Center, or VCC, will maintain its normal hours and operations (Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. and closed on the weekends and holidays). The VCC will provide a shuttle service for pedestrians from the VCC to the Burger King parking lot. The West Gate will provide VCC services when the VCC is closed. The High School Gate will maintain its normal hours and operations.
JBSA-LACKLAND CONTRUCTION
Lane Closures - Valley Hi (Airmen's Gate)
Start Date - Jan. 7
Estimated Duration - 134 Days
Inbound lanes at Valley-Hi Gate (Airmen’s Gate) will be completely closed while normal outbound lanes will be transitioned to accommodate two-way traffic. Traffic flow will be severely impacted.
Valley-Hi (Airman’s Gate): Inbound lanes closed. Outbound lanes will transition to 1 lane in / 1 lane out
Selfridge West: MON-FRI 6 A.M. – 6 P.M.
Luke East: MON-FRI 6 A.M. – 9 A.M. (inbound only)
JBSA-FORT SAM HOUSTON CONSTRUCTION
Gate Closure - Jadwin Gate
Start Date - Jan. 7
Estimated Duration - 115 Days
Jadwin Gate is commercial access only and drivers have been informed of alternative routes and new gate hours. Companies who still have questions are encouraged to contact the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Anti-Terrorism Program Manager listed below.
