Upgrades enhance visitor experience at AMEDD Museum

George Wunderlich, U.S. Army Medical Department Museum director, points to a section of historical photos and prints in the museum’s revamped AMEDD Regimental Room, which is used for various activities from change of command and retirement ceremonies to receptions to training demonstrations. The renovations to the room are part of several improvements being made at the museum to enhance the visitor experience.

Drinking and driving don’t mix: find a ride, stay alive

Drinking and driving can be a deadly mix, with 28 people every day in the U.S. dying in vehicle crashes caused by a drunk driver – a fatality every 51 minutes. In addition, military members are not immune to the dangers of drinking and driving as 146 active-duty personnel died in vehicle crashes worldwide in 2016, with 60 percent of those accidents alcohol related.

12th Maintenance Group Hosts Job Shadow Day 2017

Medical Education and Training Campus holds active shooter, lockdown drill

An armed intruder, played by William Torres, a training instructor with the 502nd Security Forces Squadron, gets inside an unlocked laboratory in Smith Hall on the Medical Education and Training Campus, or METC, at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Jan. 18.  METC worked with Torres and his security response team from the 502nd Air Base Wing to conduct an active shooter/lockdown drill.

The 502nd Air Base Wing supports 266 mission partners at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, JBSA-Lackland, JBSA-Randolph, JBSA-Camp Bullis and seven other operating locations throughout the greater San Antonio area. From comptroller support to civil engineering, legal, logistics readiness, public affairs, safety, security and almost everything in between, the 502nd ABW is helping sustain the readiness of JBSA mission partners to accomplish their missions.
