BAMC Troop Command Soldiers help guide students at career fair

Akeroyd Donor Center takes ownership of new blood mobile

In September, the Akeroyd Blood Donor Center received a new blood mobile. The new state-of-the-art mobile will be used by the donor center to reach out to the Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston permanent party population to collect plasma for the freeze-dried plasma program.

JBSA honors National Disability Employment Awareness Month

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and is a time to recognize the many and significant contributions workers with disabilities have made. It also serves as an opportunity to reaffirm a commitment to recruit, retain and advance people with disabilities in the workforce.

Wingman Café ushers in new era for JBSA-Randolph’s DFAC

Command post: the eyes, ears of JBSA

Whenever an emergency occurs, the Joint Base San Antonio Command Post is the unit active-duty members, civilian personnel and commanders rely on to keep them informed on what’s going on. The command post is a 24-hour, seven-day operation that monitors communications of security forces and emergency responders throughout JBSA.

JBSA-Randolph historic landmark gets facelift

JBSA clinics offer mammograms in October

The mammography clinic at JBSA-Lackland’s Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center will offer mammograms Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. At JBSA-Randolph, the 359th Medical Group will offer mammograms from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 1-3:30 p.m. every Friday during October as long as a provider submits a request.

Joseph “JB” Slye, an emergency medical technician, or EMT, instructor at the Department of Combat Medic Training and retired volunteer firefighter for the Medina (Ohio) Fire Department, passed away Sept. 1. His EMT classroom was dedicated with his name Sept. 29.
