Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James poses with the first four Enlisted Pilot Initial Class students in the U.S. Air Force Initial Flight Training School at Pueblo Memorial Airport in Pueblo, Colorado Oct. 17. The Air Force announced the initiative to integrate the enlisted force into Remotely Piloted Aircraft flying operations as pilots Dec. 17, 2015 starting with the RQ-4 Global Hawk. Name badges were blurred due to Air Force limits on disclosure of identifying information for RPA operators.

Firefighters from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Fire Emergency Services extinguish an aircraft engine fire Oct. 17, 2016 at the Camp Talon fire training grounds on JBSA-Randolph. Although aircraft fires are rare at JBSA locations, engaging in ARFF – aircraft rescue and firefighting – training gives firefighters the ability to successfully contain and extinguish blazes should they occur on or off base.

A fifth grader at Specht Elementary School in San Antonio is coached by Staff Sgt. Darren O. Thomas (left) and  Staff Sgt. Brandon Hood (right) from the Fort Sam Houston Honors Platoon Oct. 18 on how to properly fold the U.S. flag, as well as how to render proper honors when raising and lowering the flag. The students are volunteers with the task of putting up the flag in the mornings and taking it down at the end of each school day.

The San Antonio Rugby Football Club (right), a 45-year-old organization formed by doctors from Brooke Army Medical Center in 1971, are locked in a “scrum” during their match against the British Army Medical Services Rugby Team at the Wheatley Sports complex in San Antonio Oct. 15.
