Generals inform JBSA leaders 'We can, must fix this'

Former TACP Airman earns Bronze Star

Senior Airman Michael Malarsie received the Bronze Star with Valor from Maj. Gen. Byron Hepburn, 59th Medical Wing commander, March 30 at the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. While deployed as a Tactical Air Control Party member in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Malarsie’s actions saved the lives of others when his patrol came under fire. Blinded by the injuries he received that day, Malarsie has remained on active duty and is the current program administrator for Air Force Recovering Airman Mentorship Program for Wounded, Ill, and Injured Service Members under the Air Force Medical Operations Agency here.
