Airman fulfills childhood dream in military

Second Lt. Chris Hsu, Air Education and Training Command Judge Advocate legal intern, received his commission from Texas A&M University in 2014 after serving in the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets program. Hsu is now attending the University of Houston Law Center and plans to apply for a position within the JAG Corps after he finishes law school in spring of 2017.

JBSA-Randolph performs base-wide active shooter exercise

902nd Civil Engineer fire department personnel provide treatment to a simulated victim during an active shooter exercise at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph July 12. The active shooter exercise tested the threat response time and effectiveness of Joint Base San Antonio’s emergency responders and support agencies. The exercise replicated possible real-world events and was designed to enhance training and readiness of JBSA emergency responders during threats to the installation and units.

Taj facility manager embraces role in preserving Air Force history

The Taj was completed in 1931 and cost $252,000 to build.

Doolittle Raiders honored during 74th anniversary at JBSA-Randolph

Retired Lt. Col. Dick Cole, co-pilot of Aircraft No. 1 of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid, raises a glass to toast the 74th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid April 18 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. On the same day in 1942, Lt. Col. James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle led a select team of 80 pilots, gunners, navigators and bombardiers to execute a surprise attack over the islands of Japan in retaliation after the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.  Cole, at 100-years-old, is one of two remaining survivors of the Doolittle Raid.  Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, who was unable to attend, is the second survivor.
