A Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC) vehicle is unloaded from an Air Force Reserve Command’s 433rd Airlift Wing C-5M Super Galaxy at Ceiba, Puerto Rico Oct. 1, 2017. JBSA reminds drivers to watch for flooded roadways

Each year, more deaths occur due to flooding than from any other thunderstorm related hazard, according to Texas Department of Transportation. Many of the deaths occur in automobiles as they are swept downstream. A small car can be carried away with just twelve inches of water, while 2 feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles.

502nd OSS supports MASS mission

Joint Base Charleston – Weapons Station, S.C. – A specially-modified Air Force Reserve C-130 Hercules tactical cargo aircraft, assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, disperses a water-diluted EPA-approved insecticide over an area known as the spoils site here, June 15, 2013. The 30-acre ‘spoils site’ is known to produce approximately 40-million mosquitoes per acre, or 1.2 billion of the pest insects, annually. The 910th’s Aerial Spray Unit conducted spraying operations here, June 15, 2013 to control the population of the disease-carrying pest insects at the installation. The 910th sprayed approximately 16,500 acres to provide much sought relief for the base’s populace.
