JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LAKCLAND, Texas –
Maj. Gen. Randall A. Ogden, 4th Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Timothy C. White, Jr., 4th AF command chief, spent four days at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Oct. 12-15, 2017, observing the 433rd Airlift Wing’s mission and to meet and greet with Reserve Citizen Airmen.
Day one was spent with the 433rd Operations Group in preparation for a training flight both senior leaders would participate in later that day. This opportunity was the first time in Ogden’s 33-year career he had flown a C-5 aircraft.
The following day was spent with various wing leadership throughout JBSA, to include the 502nd Air Base Wing and JBSA commander, Brig. Gen. Heather Pringle, as well as attending meetings with the Alamo Wing leadership as they prepared for the weekend's unit training assembly.
Both Ogden and White spent the majority of the UTA days meeting with hundreds of Alamo Wing Citizen Airmen. Ogden expressed his thoughts on their mission and success of the 433rd AW.
“The Alamo Wing has such patriotic Airmen who move the mission every day,” he said. “Not only is it a great operational mission that goes on here, but the incredible support units for that mission is some of the best I’ve seen. Also, what this wing has shown recently in the hurricane relief efforts is a true testament to what great American’s make up the Alamo Wing.”
Many of the Airmen had a chance to explain what their role within their unit is, while others were recognized by the 4th AF leadership for their efforts.
The following Airmen were coined by the 4th AF leadership:
