Bike show and awareness

Brent Von Aschen mounts his bike during the 342nd Training Squadron's Motorcycle Safety and Bike Show April 20 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The event was hosted by the combat weapons flight. Thirty-five bikes were on display at the Combat Arms Firing Range, Lackland Training Annex. The Motorcycle School instructors talked about motorcycle safety, including identifying the proper gear that should be worn, and how to get started in riding. Col. Eric and Mary Wilbur engage in the Mexican tradition of breaking cascarones, or confetti-filled eggs, over one another's heads during the opening ceremony of Fiesta April 20 at the Alamo Plaza. Although there are several accepted meanings behind the breaking of a cascarone, the most common ones are to bring that person good luck, to bestow blessings upon a person or to indicate you have an admirer. Fiesta is a 10-day event with more than 100 scheduled events designed to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto.
