JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 13, 2024) – U.S. Navy Lt. Zainob Andu, of Chicago, a regional logistician and assistant deputy chief of staff for logistics, assigned to Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), briefs Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Poirier, deputy chief of staff for logistics, on the command’s scheduled Medical Inspector General Inspection at NNFSC headquarters. Zainob, who was commissioned through the Medical Service Corps In-service Procurement Program, is a representation of the highly professional and diverse active-duty workforce within the Department of the Navy. NMFSC develops and delivers integrated education and training that produces operational medical experts to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority. JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 8, 2024) – Command Master Chief Phillip Jean-Gilles of Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC), joined by NMRC Commander Capt. Franca Jones, provided information on the upcoming Army recognition program during a NMRC Enterprise All Hands at the Military and Family Readiness Center. The Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation team from the 59th Medical Wing and Brooke Army Medical Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas, came together to turn a critically ill patient with lung failure by using the functions on a specialty bed with staff at the University Medical Center of El Paso, Texas, Oct 23, 2023. The Department of Defense’s only ECMO team possesses the capability for global transports of all service members.
