Based on the latest CDC COVID-19 community levels and in consultation with the installation public health emergency officers, effective May 15, 2023, by order of the JBSA commander, installation Health Protection Condition levels will change from HPCON A, Low COVID-19 Community Level Risk, to HPCON 0, normal baseline operations.

The change to this HPCON level removes additional requirements posed by HPCON A and resets health protection levels and procedures to normal baseline operations.

Under normal baseline operations, units and individuals should resume routine standard operations and maintain standard precautions, such as routine hand washing, coughing on one's sleeve, good diets, exercise, vaccinations, education, routine health alerts, and regular preparedness activities.

JBSA transitions to HPCON Charlie

In response to the increased number of positive COVID-19 cases on local military installations and cases of community transmission in the local area, the 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio commander increased the Health Protection Condition to Charlie, or HPCON C, effective Jan. 4, 2021.
