Mobilization & Deployment

Deployment is never easy and often takes a toll on both the service member and their family. The Mobilization & Deployment Readiness Program explains and educates both service members and their families on the 3 stages of the deployment cycle (Pre-deployment, Deployment, and Reintegration), Operation R.E.A.D.Y. (Resources for Education about Deployment and You) training and other aspects of the military life.

The mission of Mobilization & Deployment Readiness is to develop an adaptable community in which service members and their families are prepared for deployment, have access to the support they need throughout its course, and are prepared for the unique challenges they face when their service member returns.

Operation R.E.A.D.Y.
Operation R.E.A.D.Y. (Resources for Education about Deployment and You) is a training program for commanders and Family Readiness Group Leaders and participants. Developed from deployment lessons learned after the Persian Gulf War and updated based on the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), materials have been distributed to U.S. Army Service providers worldwide, as well as to U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard commanders. This program gives service members and family member's critical information about deployment and separation. It covers all phases of deployment, sustainment, post deployment, homecoming and reunion.

Hearts Apart
The Hearts Apart program is open to families that are geographically separated due to deployment, remote tour, or extended TDY. It's designed to assist family members in making prolonged separations more bearable. Hearts Apart helps military families stay connected, provides inform on resources and services available, and assistance with various needs or requests addressed by the families.
The Air Force Aid Society provides funding for additional services for like Give Parents A Break (free limited child care) and Car Care Because We Care (free oil change and safety inspection) for Air Force families.
