RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
The skies over San Antonio will be filled with thunder when the 2011 Randolph Air Force Base hosts its air show Oct. 29 and 30.
All are invited to this year's jam-packed show, featuring exciting and diverse military and civilian aircraft, with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels headlining both days.
The schedule for both days is:

· 11:10 a.m. CFB/Trainers
· 11:35 a.m. Hawk Demo
· 11:50 a.m. Kent Pietsch
· Noon Doc Winter (P-51)
· 12:15 p.m. Jason Newburg
· 12:30 p.m. Vietnam Show
· 12:45 p.m. Randy Ball (Mig-17)
· 1 p.m. Cartop landing
· 1:15 p.m. John Klatt
· 1:30 p.m. Dead Stick Demo
· 1:40 p.m. F-16 Demo/HF
· 2:10 p.m. Tim Weber
· 2:30 p.m. U.S. Navy Blue Angels
· 3:30 p.m. Gates close to the public
· 5 p.m. Air Show ends
Performers include: F-16 "Viper East Demo" team, USAFA Wings of Blue, Mig-17 Randy Ball, T-6 four ship formation, F-4D Phantom demonstration, and a composite from the 12th Flying Training Wing from Randolph, to name only a few. There will also be a Vietnam reenactment to include an F-4, A-4, O-2, AC-47, UH-1 and A-26.
Static displays include: B-29 Fifi, B-24, B-17, B-25 Yellow Rose, C-17, CV-22 Osprey, F-15C, A-10, HH-60, HH-65, P-3, P-38 Glacier Girl, T-38C, U-11A and U-3, plus many more.
Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Texas State Guard, Air National Guard and Coast Guard will also be present to display their service unique assets.
This year's air show will also include a variety of food vendors, children's inflatables, aircraft simulators, military recruiters, and informational display booths. Food, beverages and merchandise will be available for purchase and a nominal fee will also be charged for some children's activities.
Attendees without ID cards must enter through the East Gate off of FM 78, South Gate on Lower Seguin Road or from FM1518. ID cardholders will still be able to access the base through the main gate located off of FM 78.
With security in mind, visitors are prohibited from bringing concealed weapons, ice chests, backpacks, large bags, alcohol, skates, and skateboards. These items must be left in the vehicle.
Camera bags, diaper bags, purses, strollers, and lawn chair canvas carriers will be authorized but will be hand searched before entry is granted.
Pets, with the exception of assistance or guide dogs, will not be allowed at this event.
There will be two rows of handicap parking available on a first come first serve basis. Once you have entered the parking area, please ask Security Forces or parking assistant personnel how to locate the handicap parking area. If needed, you may also be dropped off at the entrance to the air show area. Look for handicap seating along the west ramp.
The event is free and open to the public.
