Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Fire Department personnel immediately responded to a 40-pound chlorine spill that occurred at the water plant near the JBSA-Randolph west gate Tuesday. First Responders initiated a 300-foot cordon that extended across FM 78, closing it temporarily.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A 40-pound chlorine spill occurred at the Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph water plant at about 8:30 a.m. today. JBSA-Randolph Fire Department personnel immediately responded, initiating a 300-foot cordon that extended across FM 78, closing it temporarily. FM 78 is currently open. The west gate to JBSA-Randolph was closed, however the medical facility remained open. The west gate is now open. One person was treated by medical personnel and immediately released.
