PROVO, UTAH –
The United States Air Force Academy's flying team exceled at this year's National Intercollegiate Flying Association Region One competition, in Provo, Utah. The Air Force team took first place in 7 of the 11 events. The cadets competed against students from schools in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, in five ground events, two simulator events, and four flying events.
This is the twenty-sixth consecutive year that the Air Force Academy has won at the Region One level, also winning the Top Pilot Award and Richard Mach Safety award, this year. Now, the team will prepare for the national competition at Ohio State University in May of 2013.
