Tech. Sgt. Robert Barrientos
RANK/NAME: Tech. Sgt. Robert Barrientos
UNIT: 390th Cyber Operations Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Exploitation Analyst
Tech. Sgt. Robert Barrientos was first on the scene for a domestic violence incident involving a peer. For three days, he sheltered a baby, directed his peer to safety services, picked up the spouse from jail, and ensured lodging was secured. He reduced high-risk holiday concerns; connectedness and purpose. He planned two events to boost unity for his 28-member team and developed a quick turn onboarding process, cutting in-processing from two weeks to three days.

TITLE/NAME: Tech. Sgt. Alexander J. Thomas
UNIT: 323rd Training Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Military Training Instructor
Tech. Sgt. Alexander J. Thomas led three ”Coping With Stress” seminars for 162 basic trainees. During one of his lessons, he identified a recruit who recently lost a family member. He teamed with her family and the first sergeant, enabling her to attend service and grieve with her family. Thomas was conducting health, morale and welfare checks on his zero-week dorm. During his review, he noticed a member without clothes. He rallied his squadron to donate Air Force PT gear and created a clothing closet abating any future repeats.

 

TITLE/NAME: Staff Sgt. Laura A. Davis
UNIT: 59th Surgical Operations Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Physical Medicine Technician
Staff Sgt. Laura A. Davis revamped the JBSA readiness training plan where she teamed with three bases, and coordinated 15 trainings for 32 personnel, increasing the 59th Medical Wing's 42B/4J readiness rate by 22% in preparation for three FY24 deployments. Davis directed a four-member team in support of the local church's fall festival, dedicated four hours, fostering community spirit and ensuring a memorable and enjoyable event for 100 underprivileged families in need.

TITLE/NAME: Staff Sgt. Ashley L. Edmond
UNIT: 802nd Force Support Squadron
DUTY TITLE: NCOIC, Promotions
Staff Sgt. Ashley L. Edmond showcased exceptional leadership by promptly responding to two Airmen in mental health crises, ensuring their safe escort for treatment and reinforcing her standing as a reliable and caring leader within her unit. Edmond orchestrated weekly conflict resolution discussions, engaging six Airmen to enhance team dynamics, morale, and customer interactions, showcasing proactive leadership and commitment to a positive work environment.

Senior Airman Zachary D. Harvill
TITLE/NAME: Senior Airman Zachary D. Harvill
UNIT: 502nd Comptroller Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Financial Operations Technician
Senior Airman Zachary D. Harvill led a Veteran’s Day tour for three squadron airmen through the Commemorative Air Force and Dream Flight organization. The event provided ground crew duties for four World War II aircraft and flights to 24 World War II/Korean/Vietnam veterans. Harvill also volunteered 32 hours with Mission Concepcion and St. Joseph’s Church/San Antonio Liederkranz as a choir member. He coordinated seven performances and raised $2,600 through fundraising events to keep a 131-year-old local cultural society active.

Senior Airman Noah J. Stewart
TITLE/NAME: Senior Airman Noah J. Stewart
UNIT: 57th Intelligence Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Client Systems Technician
As the Booster Club President, Senior Airman Noah J. Stewart organized a Thanksgiving flag football and potluck event with our sister squadron, boosting morale and feeding 125 members and their families. Additionally, he made the game-winning defensive play! Stewart used his technical expertise to connect the First Sergeant's official phone, coordinate with the base comm squadron and successfully load security certificates to establish crucial, stand-by resources for 46 members.

Airman 1st Class Sofia Aguirre
TITLE/NAME: Airman 1st Class Sofia Aguirre
UNIT: 59th Medical Logistics and Readiness Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Unit Deployment Manager
With less than 24-hrs notice, Airman 1st Class Sofia Aguirre stepped up to assemble 81 deployment folders for the 502nd Air Base Wing Joint Operation Agile Medic exercise, collecting more than 6,000 Medic-X, RAT & AFSC training items, boosting CAT-III training stats for 32nd Wing AFSCs. Aguirre, selflessly assisted an Airman from the 502nd Communications Squadron whose vehicle was stolen by providing daily transport, and liaising with the San Antonio Police Department, resulting in finding the car and saving the member $5,000 in vehicle costs.

UNIT: 690th Intelligence Support Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Current Operations Technician
Airman 1st Class Troy Rivera played a crucial role in the 2023 Alamo ACE, managing 4,000 attendees, overseeing venue arrangements, and ensuring security for mission events. His efforts not only contributed to STEM education but also provided invaluable support for 30,000 wounded warriors and military families. Rivera ensured the safe transportation of more than 50 military and civilian personnel as the designated driver for the 802nd Force Support Squadron combat dining-in. His commitment bolstered mission readiness, providing crucial support, training resources, and ensuring the safety of all members.
