JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
The 433rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron welcomed a new commander, Lt. Col. Angella Mudd, during an assumption of command ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Dec. 2.
Col. Michelle Van Sickle, 433rd Medical Group commander, presented the 433rd ASTS guidon to Mudd and presided over the ceremony.
“Lt. Col. Mudd, without doubt, is the right leader to lead you, all the airmen of the 433rd ASTS,” Van Sickle said. “I am proud to start the ceremony so she can officially assume command.”
Mudd, who was the acting 433rd ASTS interim commander, spoke to the airmen under her command during the ceremony.
“As we embark on this journey together my primary focus will be on ensuring that every airman has the opportunity to grow,” she said. “Our strengths lie in our people and it’s my duty to create that atmosphere; an atmosphere that fosters professional and personal development. I am here to support you, guide you and provide the tools necessary for success.”
Mudd thanked and recognized her family, mentors, and the 433rd ASTS Airmen.
“Let us move forward with a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and the continued growth of our incredible team,” she said.
Mudd concluded her speech saying, “I’m ready now,” prompting the airmen in attendance to respond, “transform for the future.”
