JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas –
Announced in late 2021 by the spouse of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Sharene Brown, it increases focus and attention on the top five quality of life challenges military families face.
Through prevention measures, promoting best practices, and building a community, this quarterly meet-up targets spouses’ top five challenges - childcare, education, healthcare, housing, and employment - and explores available resources with dedicated experts.
Quality of Life issues directly ties into readiness, resilience, and retention, which impacts mission execution.
These five areas were selected based on feedback from military families and surveys conducted by Blue Star Families, Military OneSource, the Military Family Advisory Network, and other organizations.
The Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Military & Family Readiness Center, hosts the next quarterly session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7. The M&FRC is located at 1550 Wurtsmith St., building 5725, room 217.
People are encouraged to connect, ask questions, and get involved! There will be representatives from the Lackland Independent School District, Family Child Care, Christus Health, Military OneSource, Catholic Charities, the Exceptional Family Member Program, housing office, commissary, Skill Bridge/ JBSA Transition Alliance, Alamo Workforce Solutions, Balfour Beatty Communities, TRICARE, Personal Financial Readiness and the USO.
