Check out latest TRICARE For Life podcast series

By TRICARE Communications

Have questions about TRICARE For Life. or TFL? The “Get to Know TRICARE” podcast just launched a new series, called “Getting Care With TRICARE For Life.”

Like the “TRICARE For Life 101” series, this new series will continue to provide helpful conversations around important TFL topics. New episodes take a look at covered services, out-of-pocket costs, and the claims process.

If you want to make the most of your TFL coverage, learning what Medicare and TRICARE cover is a good place to start. The first episode, “What Is and Isn’t Covered by TRICARE For Life,” features an interview with Anne Breslin, the TFL program manager at the Defense Health Agency. You can listen to this episode now on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

“It’s very important that you take an active role in verifying coverage because TRICARE and Medicare coverage policies aren’t identical,” Breslin said. “In this episode, I talk about services that TFL covers and doesn’t cover, as well as how you can determine if a service or benefit is covered by Medicare, TRICARE, or both.”

As described in the TRICARE and Medicare Turning Age 65 Brochure, “TRICARE has special rules and limitations for certain types of care, and some types of care aren’t covered at all.” Medicare also has limits on the amounts of care it covers.

This is the first of three episodes to be released as part of the “Getting Care With TRICARE For Life” series. Upcoming episodes will cover costs associated with TFL, different scenarios in which Medicare or TRICARE pays, and how to file claims.
