Got pharmacy questions? Register for July 22 TRICARE webinar

By TRICARE Communications

Do you have questions about your prescription coverage, or where to fill your prescription? Do you want to learn how you can save money on your prescriptions, or make managing them easier? Join the “Making Your TRICARE Pharmacy Benefit Work for You” webinar on July 22, from 2-3 p.m. CDT to get your questions answered.

This webinar will provide an overview of your pharmacy benefit. Topics include:

“Prescription drugs are an important part of health care,” said U.S. Public Health Service Cmdr. Teisha Robertson, a pharmacist with the Defense Health Agency’s Pharmacy Operations Division. “If you’re new to TRICARE or need a refresher on your pharmacy benefit, then join this webinar and learn how you can get the most from your prescription drug coverage.”

Robertson, who will be the webinar presenter, will walk you through the options you have to get your medications. As described in the TRICARE Pharmacy Program Overview, how you fill your prescription depends on your beneficiary category and the type of drug your provider prescribes. You have four options for filling your prescriptions. The webinar will take a look at each of the pharmacy options below:

It’s important to note that active duty service members don’t pay for their covered prescription drugs. For non-active duty service members, you can see your copayments listed on the TRICARE Costs and Fees Sheet. You can also see your medication coverage and copayments by using the TRICARE Formulary Search Tool.

The TRICARE Pharmacy Program provides prescription drug coverage for all TRICARE beneficiaries. And your coverage is the same regardless of your TRICARE health plan, unless you use the US Family Health Plan (USFHP). If you’re in the USFHP, you have separate pharmacy coverage that this webinar won’t cover.

Don’t miss the July 22 webinar to learn more about your pharmacy benefit, what it includes and more. The webinar is on a first-come, first served basis. Register today.
