Armed Services Blood Program is in urgent need of all blood types

The Armed Services Blood Program is in urgent need of all blood types. A blood drive will be held in the Brooke Army Medical Center Medical Mall (Consolidated Tower side) from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 10.

Donors can call, email or go online to make an appointment. Appointments will be accepted until 11 p.m. June 9. Walk-ins are welcome but may have a longer wait.

All blood collected will help support the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and patients being treated at BAMC.

To make an appointment:

1.       Click or copy and paste https://www.militarydonor.com
2.       Click on locate a blood drive
3.       Under “search by sponsor” in the box for “CODE” enter SAMMC then click “enter”
4.       Choose the time you would like to donate
5.       Enter your information

The blood donor center is also looking for anyone who has had a positive test for COVID-19 to help save the lives of patients still fighting the disease. If you have been positive or anyone in your unit has been positive, your help is needed.

Many people have not been able to donate because of time spent in Europe or the United Kingdom between 1980 and 1996. For some people, that is changing. For more information, call 210-292-8145.
