JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas –
Effective March 1, the 502nd Security Forces and Logistics Support Group has officially changed its name to 502nd Security and Readiness Group.
The group, currently under the command of Col. Thomas Miner, is headquartered at JBSA-Randolph, overseeing five squadrons and approximately 1,700 personnel accomplishing the security forces, logistics and trainer development missions across the Department of Defense's largest joint base supporting 145,000 personnel across 11 operating locations.
Units in the group include the 502nd Security Forces Squadron at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, the 902nd SFS at JBSA-Randolph and the 802nd SFS at JBSA-Lackland, in addition to the 502nd Logistics Readiness Squadron and 502nd Trainer Development Squadron at JBSA-Randolph.
