59th MDW radiation oncologist completes Boston Marathon

Air Force establishes 24/7 helpline to address housing concerns

Residents of privatized housing on Air Force bases now have a 24/7 toll-free helpline to better assist with any housing concerns that they have not been able to resolve with their local privatized or government housing office, or housing chain of command. The 433rd Airlift Wing's Honor Guard leads the 433rd Airlift Wing and 960th Cyberspace Wing walkers and float on Broadway Street in downtown San Antonio during the 71st annual Fiesta Flambeau Parade April 27. More than 750,000 spectators lined the 2.6-mile-long route see more than 200 floats and marching bands perform in the grand finale of Fiesta Week.

New peer support group for burn survivors established at USAISR Burn Center

The U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research Burn Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston has established a peer support group for burn survivors and burn patients affiliated with the Phoenix SOAR - Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery – program. SOAR is a nationwide that connects burn patients and their family members to burn survivors – peer supporters - who share their experiences about their injuries and going through the recovery and rehabilitation process in peer group meetings, or during one-on-one visits with the patients at the USAISR Burn Center. The group meets every Saturday at the burn center.
