JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO LACKLAND, Texas - Military representatives throughout San Antonio wave to the crowd during the Texas Cavalier River Parade April 23, 2018, San Antonio, Texas. The parade is one of key events during Fiesta San Antonio and dates back to 1941. It runs along the River Walk in downtown San Antonio. Fiesta began as a one-time parade (Battle of Flowers) in 1891, to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto, has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures. Military representatives participate in receptions, parades, pilgrimages and memorials.
