TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - The Green Latrine System is a containerized latrine system capable of operating exclusively on solar power. It’s roof-mounted photovoltaic 3.4-kilowatt solar panels and advanced energy storage system can independently operate the system which comes with a sink, a shower and toilet. Independent of a power grid or fossil fuels, the system is less vulnerable to attack and ideal for use in austere deployed environments. (U.S. Air Force Courtesy Photo)
