Senior Airmen Timothy Legge (left) and Ernesto Arguelles Jr., 359th Aerospace Medicine Squadron public health technicians, set a mosquito trap April 7 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. When samples are collected, female mosquitoes are separated from the males and sent to the Army Public Health Command Central at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston to see if they are carrying disease-causing viruses.

Retired Lt. Col. Dick Cole, co-pilot of Aircraft No. 1 of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid, raises a glass to toast the 74th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid April 18 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. On the same day in 1942, Lt. Col. James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle led a select team of 80 pilots, gunners, navigators and bombardiers to execute a surprise attack over the islands of Japan in retaliation after the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.  Cole, at 100-years-old, is one of two remaining survivors of the Doolittle Raid.  Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, who was unable to attend, is the second survivor.

Joint Base San Antonio cleans up for Proud Week

Members of the 12th Flying Training Wing and 502nd Security Forces and Logistics Support Group spread mulch and clean up outside the Taj during Proud Week April 13 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph.  The 502nd Air Base Wing in coordination with the 502nd Civil Engineer Squadron conducted Proud Week Spring Cleanup to unite mission partners, tenant units, organizations and agencies throughout JBSA in an effort to enhance the appearance and beautification of JBSA and its facilities, conduct environmental maintenance and create a clean work environment.
